Here is a short video by Tigger of the wasps we saw earlier.

Wasp
Video by Tigger
Not everyone likes, or even tolerates, wasps and as a child I was taught to smash them with a rolled-up newspaper.
I have been stung by wasps several times in my life but with age comes, if not wisdom, then at least a better understanding of our companions on the planet. I am now a fan of wasps and enjoy – if cautiously – their company.
What is a “wasp”? Your video shows what looks a lot like a bee, and the world is running short of bees, so I’m loathe to discourage any I see, let alone kill them. Also, I’ve not followed your journeys for some time but am happy to learn you’re not abandoning the Internet altogether. I’ve another English acquaintance who maintained a weekly blog for many years but cut back to once a month recently after he issued his one thousandth installment. It’s age that gets us if nothing else can.

I am aware of the plight of bees but the insects mentioned in my posts are definitely wasps. If you do not know what wasps are then I can only suggest that you look them up online, for example this Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasp
Wasps are one of our commonest insects and easily recognizable by their bright yellow and black markings whereas bees are a duller brown colour.
Thank you for your remarks about my blog. I will keep it going as long as I can but none of us knows what the future holds.
